This data is collected to support the maintenance and management of WDC's water supply network. This layer includes fields that classify, e.g., input voltage, speed, control type etc.
A Mechanical Plant, in general terms, represents a group of asset types that can be categorised by the following definition – ‘A mechanical network component involved in the treatment or conveyance of water’.
A mechanical plant can be used to represent a variety of information including:
- Softening or disinfecting water for a potable water network
- Assisting with bacterial breakdown of effluent
- Disposing of treated effluent to land
Mechanical Plant asset types include electrical actuator, air blower, effluent irrigator, odour control unit, lime feeder, pond aerator, air compressor, soda ash mixer, mechanical screen, ventilation fan, lifting hoist, and pond mixer.
Please refer to the 3 Waters Asset Information Metadata Standard Data Standard for further information.
Update Frequency
Daily
Point of Contact
Waimakariri District Council
Lineage
Data has been compiled from a number of sources and its accuracy may vary (e.g. Field Verification, Deposited Plans, AsBuilt plans and forms, sketches, aerial photo, Google Street View). Attribute information is stored in Waimakariri District Council's Asset Management System. This is joined to a spatial dataset containing the location of each asset and published as a GIS feature layer for use within WDC GIS applications, Before U Dig, and open data portal. There may be delays before data is updated to reflect changes in an area.

",
