Abstract:

The scheduled freshwater bodies have been identified as having some natural character features. The list of natural character features include those attributes identified in the NZ Coastal Policy Statement and the National Policy Statement on Freshwater Management. There are three groups of Scheduled Freshwater Bodies shown, Schedule 1 are those that contain the highest number natural character features, and as such have the largest setbacks. Schedule 2 and 3 freshwater bodies contain less natural character features and as such have reduced setbacks. Not shown are unscheduled freshwater bodies, which are those freshwater bodies that have not been assessed. The map shows the outline of the freshwater body delineates the channel edge of the freshwater body. The setbacks identified in the chapter are to be applied out from the edge of the water bodies and are used to identify land parcels that will be affected by the rules.
