Heritage Settings are designed to protect heritage values of Historic Heritage items. Heritage Settings are defined by the Waimakariri District Plan as: \u201can entry in HH-SCHED2 - Historic Heritage Items which, with the associated historic heritage, has met the significance threshold for listing. A heritage setting is the area surrounding and adjacent to historic heritage that is integral to its function, meaning and relationships and may include individually listed historic heritage. A heritage setting includes:<\/SPAN><\/P>a. buildings;<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/P><\/LI>b. structures or features, such as fences, walls and gates, bridges, monuments, gun emplacements, whale pots, lamp stands and public artworks;<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/P><\/LI>c. gardens, lawns, mature trees and landscaping water features, historic landforms;<\/SPAN><\/P><\/LI>d. access, walkways and cycleways, circulation, paths and paving;<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/P><\/LI>e. open space; and<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/P><\/LI>f. spatial relationships.\u201d<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/P><\/LI><\/OL><\/P>
