This data is collected to support the maintenance and management of WDC's stockwater network. This layer includes fields that classify, e.g., condition, status, location, etc.<\/SPAN><\/P> A Race, in general terms, represents a group of asset types that can be categorised by the following definition \u2013 \u2018A long natural or manmade depression in the ground used for the transmission of water\u2019.<\/SPAN><\/P> Races can be used for a variety of purposes including:<\/SPAN><\/P> - Carrying surface water to be used for stock water or irrigation<\/SPAN><\/P> - Removing stormwater from its collection point as part of a drainage system<\/SPAN><\/P> Race asset types include network drain, receiving waterway, process channel and water race.<\/SPAN><\/P> Network Drain: an artificially man made channel within the ground\u2019s surface from which a body of water flows and carries surface water and is open to the air. These form part of the drainage network owned and maintained by the Council.<\/SPAN><\/P> Receiving Waterway: a naturally formed channel within the grounds surface from which a body of water flows and carries surface water and is open to the air, these can be either ECan or Council owned and maintained.<\/SPAN><\/P>
